Let’s talk about benefits of hemp seeds and why they deserve to be called a superfood? 

These tiny little seeds provide numerous health benefits for our bodies due to their great nutritional profile which includes omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, all 20 amino acids and each of the 9 essential amino acids, iron, magnesium, B vitamins, vitamin D and E and both soluble and insoluble fibre, among many other nutrients. 

Hemp seeds are a rich source of both insoluble and soluble fibre for our bodies. This healthy fibre can help to improve our digestive health. They also help to feel the probiotics in our bodies and promote our overall health. You don’t have to eat a ton of hemp seeds to obtain this fibre, but you should definitely start adding them into your favourite meals and foods.  In a 56 gram serving of whole hemp seeds, there is 16.8 grams of fibre. Wow, that’s almost half of the recommended daily intake of fibre. Sounds great, isn’t? 

Lastly, hemp seeds can help you with weight loss. How? They are known as natural appetite suppressant and can help to reduce sugar cravings. As well, due to these seeds being rich in fibre and a good source of healthy fats, they can help you to feel full longer and reduce snacking through out the day. Not only will you feel more full, but they are a great source of nutrition and will provide adequate nutrients to your body, an important point for anyone who is dieting or restricting calories.
